This is the first time that a smartphone make has been able to achieve such a milestone, says Xiaomi. Information technology could be attributed to the record-breaking sales of Xiaomi's Redmi Notation 5 lineup that has seen huge interest from the netizens in India. More than 5 million units of this series were depleted in the past four months, despite the irritating flash sales.
With sales figures like these, Xiaomi is constantly trying to occupy a main spot in the phone market place of India and has been able to practice so over the past two quarters. It held the leading position in the market for the past two quarters, but lost the race to Samsung in the 2nd quarter, reveals Counterpoint Research on Tuesday.
Samsung captured a 29% market share in the 2d quarter in India, pipping the Chinese phone maker past one percent. Xiaomi grabbed a 28% market share, whereas the initiator of the notch tendency, Apple, holds simply a 1% market share in the land. Talking about Samsung'southward success, Karn Chauhan, Research Analyst says,
"Samsung has regained the leading position back after receding it to Xiaomi 2 quarters ago. The success of Samsung tin can be attributed to its refreshed 'J' series as it launched the virtually number of models as compared to any brand beyond multiple toll points during the quarter."
The Korean phone maker recently also revealed that it has sold over 20 lakh units of the Galaxy J6 and J8. Even so, Xiaomi has still managed to record its highest shipments in Bharat in this quarter so it nevertheless has some reason to celebrate.
